DIY (Do It Yourself) Templates are great when planning a wedding on a budget or just to add a specially unique touch. DIY projects can be super fun and also allow you the opportunity to bond with your bridal party. Make a night out of it and invite the girls over for popcorn, movies and wedding projects! Check back this weekend as I plan to put some of Martha’s Templates to work. I will add photos of the process and even offer tips!

Once Upon A Time

Every girl dreams of her BIG Wedding Day at least once in her life before it actaully becomes reality. My first time dreaming of my wedding day was the day I got engaged. The daydream began immediately after Mitchell popped the question and as I stared at my engagement ring. First were thoughts of joy, happiness and excitement. What a great feeling to be engaged to the man of my dreams. I thought about all the people we would invite and the girls I would ask to be a part of the big day. I thought about my dad walking me down the aisle and my mom watching as we passed her by on the way to the altar. I thought of white flowers and sparkling crystals, signature drinks and favors. I thought all about the special day as a million ideas and visions went racing through my head.
Then in the days to come and after the excitement wore down a little bit I started thinking of all the planning I was going to have to do and all the money that was about to be spent. It all started becoming more of a to do list and I didn't want that. I wanted to have fun and enjoy the experience so I started seeking help through blogs, wedding websites and magazines. I got some really helpful tips from other brides to be and experts. I am here to share those tips and ideas with you. From Big Day Inspiration to DIY projects...

Feeling Overwhelmed

Just got engaged...
What's the date? Where's the venue? How many people? What are your colors? Have you picked out save the dates and invitations yet? And favors, what about favors? Who are you going to ask to be in your bridal party? OMG have you thought about flowers and centerpieces?
I bet these are a few of the questions you have had to answer in the days after getting engaged. If you answered I don't know to any of these questions then I am here to help. Have a vision but can't quite put in into perspective? Love all the intricate details that go into planning a wedding but don't know how you will ever pull it off... Priscilla Planned loves the details and will take care of all of that for you! Have you ever looked a bridal magazine and thought how much you loved what you saw but that you could never afford to do that or even be able to pull it off? I have, until I got married and realized you can do just about anything on a budget.
Nervous your florist won't show up or your photographer won't snap the right shots, PPI will take care of those worries on the day of your wedding. I love the details and love it even more when everything comes together just like in your dreams!

Wedding Invitations... Check!!!

Well… my wedding invitations are done and mailed. It feels really good to finally have that part of the process accomplished. I will post the pictures as soon as I load them onto the computer. They came out super cute and I am extremely happy with them. Wedding invitations are one of the most important parts of planning a wedding. Although some think that a wedding invitation is not very important and once people send in their response they don’t pay much attention to the invite however I still feel it is very important to pay attention to detail. It is certainly not necessary to have all the fancy things on your invitation such as special printing techniques, ribbons or jewels however you must have proper wording on your invitation to let guests know what is going on and to give the appropriate party credit for hosting the event. The way you begin the wording on your invitation depends on who is hosting this big day. Nowadays it is completely appropriate and becoming more widely accepted for a couple to be paying for their own wedding. Times are tough in this economy and if a couple is paying they certainly want to get recognition for it. Included with your invitation you may choose to include directions and a response card in order to figure out who will and will not be attending your event. It is of great importance that you word this appropriately so your guests are able to respond accordingly. See… the details are very important! But don’t worry, I am here to help!
If a couple is paying for their own wedding they may be trying to do a lot of DIY projects to make things a little more inexpensive. DIY projects are extremely fun however extremely time confusing and can be somewhat tedious. That is what I am here for!!! Not only will I help you create your one of a kind event invitation but I will help you along the way with other projects such as party favors or décor. Don’t get frustrated, just ask for help from PPI (Priscilla Planned It)!

Bridal Hair Flower

So I really really want to wear a beautiful hair flower for my wedding but every flower I have found is either too expensive or not what I am looking for. So because of the do it yourself mindset my family has, my mom is attempting to make me one. We bought fabric from JoAnn Fabrics in silk and organza and will be attempting to make our own. I will keep you posted as it comes along and if it comes out beautiful I will tell you exactly how we made it!

Flowers with a touch of cuteness...

I was just on Martha Stewarts wedding blog looking for flower ideas for my own wedding and found these. I think the 2 little bows around the stems are so cute! It really adds a subtle elegant touch.
